Today we were given ownership of our latest server, Orange. This server will allow us to drastically expand our French OpenVZ operations, and should lay the grounds for our planned Canadian OpenVZ operations we are hoping to start in January 2015.
Unlike our current node this server does only have 32GB of ram though includes the same 2TB HDD meaning that there is plenty of room to keep your files safe and sound. It also includes a better processor to the current Tomato server ( Intel Xeon E3 1225v2 ) allowing for you to complete your tasks a lot faster than what is currently possible on the Tomato server.
We have decided to initially migrate about 5 clients on to this new node for 2 main reasons. One it is just more powerful, it will allow these clients to get better processing speeds while they are working on the server. The second reason is that these clients are on non-ranged IP's, making it a lot easier for us to move them over without having to move 4 servers at the same time.
On a slightly separate note, we were very happy with the amount of people that have come to us from Low End Talk / Low End Box and we hope that you all find our services very good, and that you should never need to have to contact our support desk and that everything just works as it should.
I would also like to apologize to any clients that initially have had issues with MaxMind, since the amount of orders increased we have decided to review the settings for it and have increased it by a moderate amount. It should be less likely to be mistakenly caught out with the system. If however the system does flag you please contact our pre-sales team who will be able to advise you further, in some cases you may be just 0.1 or so over the limit and we can make exceptions, if you are significantly higher please attach some form of government issued ID that we can verify.
We do hope to be posting a bit more often and it should not be too long now before Alex posts his write up from Insomnia 53, and before we have some news about the events we are planning on attending next year!
